helicopter-private-certificationTraining starts with achieving the Private Pilot Certificate. Our comprehensive ground school consists of thirteen lessons taught over a period of sixteen weeks which is the fundamental building block for the commercial, instrument and CFI courses. These building blocks cover helicopter components, aerodynamics, weather, flight planning, airspace, navigation and regulations and more. By the time the student completes the ground school they will have a broad knowledge of aviation and will be ready to take their first FAA written exam. Flight training is done simultaneously and careful attention is given to move the student efficiently through the FAA requirements in a safe and timely manner.

The FAA minimum to obtain this rating is 40-hours. The average to obtain the Private rating is more along the lines of 55 hours. This is why the cost in the second column is higher.

*The ground school is a 13 week course that meets twice a week in the evening. The ground school is a better value. You get 64 hours of ground for 31.25/hr rather than at 40.00/hr. The ground instructor will maintain office hours at no cost, so if you need some extra help it will be available. CFI students will be around for help at no cost as well.

Each rating sought or the combination there of can be customized for individual student needs as long as the minimum FAA standards are met.
