Tara Thompson is the owner of Ridgeline Helicopters. Tara trained and worked for Silver State Helicopters where she held the position of CFI and Commercial Pilot. Tara has been in the aviation industry for over 5 years and has over 1,400 hours of flight with experience in all kinds of weather and terrain, including the high heat and high density altitudes of the Las Vegas, Nevada deserts as well as the ever changing weather conditions of the Cascade Mountain range. Tara was the primary CFI in charge of ferrying aircraft back and forth between Arlington Washington, Sacramento California, Provo Utah, Dallas Texas and Sitka Alaska. Tara has trained students throughout those varying flight conditions. Tara was responsible for the safe training of students from all levels of certification including Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot and CFI Candidates. With Tara’s impressive 90% pass rate of students sent for certifications she was given the responsibility of being the stage check CFI who tests and evaluates student progress within the training program. She also performed piloting duties for commercial operations such as carrying a news broadcaster for the hydroplane races in Central Washington, helicopter rides at local fairs, and numerous photo and filming flights. Prior to her aviation career, Tara brings with her the experience of 10 years in the pharmaceutical business with varying and increasing responsibilities which included managing the retail portion of drug stores, processing prescriptions, filling and dispensing of medication and compound drugs, and handling insurance claims. Her professionalism and dedication to her aviation career has earned her the respect of her students and fellow colleagues.
